2007 Archives December 1, 2007 So much has been going on these last few months that I have not had an opportunity to keep the website up to date. I had two events that I returned to again this year. In October I attended Necronomicon and in November I attended the Sarasota Medieval fair. I really enjoyed getting back out where I could interact with people again, I miss it over the long Florida summers when events are scarce. I will be holding my open house again this year for family, friends and customers. If you are interested in attending please send me an email and I will send an invitation to you. It will be on December 9th from 12-4pm. Also exciting news I will be at the Kiwanis Medieval Faire this coming January with friends. So if you are in the Ft. Myers the second or third weekend in January please stop in and see me. August 25, 2007 I know it has been a while since I have updated on what is going on. I started a new job which has drastically cut into my time to keep things up and going. But I am finally getting everything back up to speed. I have revamped and republished the Artisan's At Large website. Some how with the help of some really great and devoted vendors (you guys know who you are) have managed to keep Artisans alive and going through the hot Florida Summer. As September approaches I know that we will have a good and strong pre-Christmas season. I will attending Necronomicon again this year, and plan on turning in my application to the Sarasota Medieval Fair in the next few days. For the upcoming season I have plans to introduce some antique copper jewelry as well as a line of hand dyed silk scarves. I am planning on doing my Open house again this year, and will soon be inviting other artists to join me for this special event. June 4, 2007 Been having a multitude of computer problems lately. I hope that I am getting them all under control. As soon as I get caught up more updates will come. April 5, 2007 I have not been updating the website as much as I should have been lately. That is because I am planning some major revisions and an overhaul of the entire web page. I am hoping for a new look and a new layout. I also have plans to start introducing not only Precious Metal Clay pendants, but also an elements series. Color Families and shapes reflecting Earth Air Fire and Water. I am also in the midst of planning my next season of shows and events. I will be posting that information as it unfolds. Artisans at large is really growing. Beginning in May Artisans at Large will not only take place on the first Sunday of the month but also on the Third Friday evening. I am working towards booking live music for at least the Friday nights and hopefully the Sundays in time as well. Hopefully I will get some time soon to set aside for Photography. I have many new designs. I just haven't had an opportunity to sit down and get really good pictures to display of them. February 26, 2007 I have been working on a few things to get Artisans at large going strong. One of the biggest events and rather a milestone in my opinion was getting an article in the Tampa Tribune. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I have so many new vendors and new opportunities this month I can't wait to see how everything goes. One thing I did not anticipate is having to turn away vendors this month. I had several new people apply and I have accepted many new vendors. I just do not know how much the space available is going to stretch. I think I have played it safe and completely filled up the outside leaving inside the cafe as back up but we will see. And after everyone get there and sets up I will determine how many people I can invite next month. I cant wait to see how things go this weekend. I expect for it to be rather busy and to meet lots of wonderful people. I have also been invited to organized an additional fair at another location. I am entertaining this idea however slowly as I do not want to jeopardize what I have built thus far. There are still many growing pains with Artisans as well as many accomplishments I am striving for in my personal life at the moment I just feel it is best to take things slowly and see how everything pans out. Possible in April or may I might consider adding a second location. But I need to recover from this major hurdle first. Maybe if I am lucky I can set aside some time to take a whole bunch of pictures and get them up on the website. So expect a major we update in the coming weeks. All this talk of Artisans at large, I must add that I am still available at the Brandon Fresh Market every Saturday from 9-2. There are tons of new vendors and great goodies. So stop on by and treat your self.
February 7, 2007 I have been putting a lot of effort into Artisans At Large lately. I am hoping to open it up to musicians and authors as well. There are many things that I am currently working on with this endeavor and I will post more as they come to pass. Wouldn't want to Jinx it. Unfortunately every time I publish my sub web for Artisans at Large it knocks my navigation bar offline. So I spend and hour of so fixing that. Hopefully I will get all of the bugs worked out soon. I need to find a more efficient way to publish the page with out having hours of repair time as a result. But I guess that is one of the pitfalls of doing it all my self. I am a jeweler not a web designer. It has been a lot of trial and error. Some times more error than trial.
January 7, 2007 Things have been moving right along through the holidays. I have started organizing an artisan fair at Port City Java in Valrico. I have a small handful of vendors. Enough to give our first event a good bit of variety. I cannot wait to see how it grows in the months to come. If you are interested in more information about it go to Artisans At Large there you will find all event dates as well as vendors that will be attending. I had a small issue when I first published the sub web for Artisans at Large. Well ok it was a big problem and a story that tells the importance of keeping back ups of all your work. When it published I damaged my Bejeweled Faerie website. Yes the one that you are reading now. It has taken a lot of work to get it back up. What I had to do was restore it from an uncorrupted source (my backup) and then recreate all of the changes I had made since then. Fortunately I was able to do most of that from copy paste using the damaged site. So I think I now have most of it done. With the exception of my galleries. Those all have to be recreated from scratch. But I will get there. Now that the holidays are over and thing have started to wind down a bit. I have decided to take 2 weeks off from the Brandon Fresh Market. There are so many things that I need to take care of that I just need the Saturday to be able to accomplish it all. So you will not find me at the Brandon Fresh Market on Jan 13th and 20th, I will be stopping by to do my normal weekend shopping. I have to get my bread and produce. I will be returning to the market on Jan 27th. |
