All of us artist folks are a little bit gypsy. Especially if you do the Ren Faires and such. I have been thinking of getting a little pop up camper to make doing fairs that are a little further away possible. But now I am coming up with a plan to embrace my inner Gypsy. I want to build a Vardo. One that could double as my merchant booth while vending at festivals if the theme is appropriate.
Will I even really finish this project who knows. Right now it is just and thought. I am in the initial planning stages. Trying to come up with a design and floor plan that meets my needs. And trying to do so in a way that is tow-able by my car. I have lots of ideas but there will be a lot more research involved before I commit to any kind of major undertaking.
My biggest question at this point is how do you register such a vessel with the DMV. "Um excuse me sir I would like a tag for my Gypsy Wagon" I can see that going over as well as the time I went to the post office ship a bunch of packages from my Etsy sales wearing a shirt that says "HAZARDOUS MATERIALS" right across the front.

I know for many it is a little early to start thinking about Christmas shopping and what to get everyone. Being someone who enjoys making the majority of my Christmas gifts every year I usually starting thinking about it and making a mental list in January. By July I am making a serious list and am beginning to gather supplies and start creating. By October I am in full swing. This year I am back to doing a few fall craft shows something that I have taken a break from the past few years. So to me it is not early.
As you are starting to make your holiday lists I encourage you to buy handmade this holiday season. Look online at the many talented people offering their wares for sale. Skip the Mall. Check out some local art and craft fairs or weekend open air markets that are in your area. Get out and talk to the artist who are vending at these venues. It is a great way to really see the quality of the work that artists make their passion. A lot of work goes into participating in these events and it is nice to see and talk to people who appreciate that effort. If you are in the Tampa Bay area check out my Event's page to see were I will be. There are lots of vendors at these events and I am always pleased with all the great people that I meet.
So as fall sets in and you are staring to think about your holiday shopping remember that there are other options out there. Skip the Mall and buy handmade. You are guaranteed to find wonderful and unique gifts that are truly special and will be cherished for years to come.
Check out my links page to link to my talents friends also click on the icon below to find others who have taken the handmade pledge.

I will often spend hours looking at pictures on the internet. I save a ton of them. Some to use as stock photos, some to use as color inspiration or theme ideas. I will often save others artwork to study and try to figure out and learn techniques. Here is a sampling of some of my recent Musings. These are all stock photos from DeviantArt. The Stock Artist account name is listed above each pic. If you wish to use them please go to their stock account and read their rules.

I was googling my web site name. I was very suprised to find this forum post from 2006! I remember this lady:) I had never seen this post before and it tickled me pink to know how happy I made some one. I just copy pasted it from the forum. No editing done.

Greetings,
I'm new to the forums, but I just wanted to mention a reallyterrific lady who helped me out with some Christmas presents thisyear. Her name is Rebecca, and she owns a small company calledBejeweled Faerie (http://www.bejeweledfaerie.comwww.bejeweledfaerie.com). I met her at a convention in October, and Ipurchased a matching set of lapis lazuli barrettes from her.
You heard me right, she makes beautiful tumbled and polishedgemstone barrettes, and she doesn't glue anything, she wires everythingon so the stones aren't going anywhere. I loved my barrettes so much, that when I was looking for a unique Christmas gift for my sister, whoalso has long hair, I went back to her. She spent a week hunting theright kind of aquamarine for me (that's my sister's birthstone), andthen she made the barrette and got it to me in 3 days.
Her prices are reasonable - $15, including shipping and handling, and when I received the package I was pleasantly surprised to find someof her signature bathsalts in lavender and patchouli-rose included. Both smell wonderful.
I'll definitely use her again, and if you're shopping for lastminute gifts, I highly reccomend her. If you want to tell her thatGina-Marie sent you, I think she'd like that. (And no, I don't getanything for referring. Just a good feeling because I really liked herstuff.) She does handmade jewelry, jeweled barrettes, bath salts andsoaps, among other things.
Happy Holidays!:)

Well it has been quite some time since I have had a web page. Needless to say it has been a while since I have built one. I took a bit of a break from doing art shows and selling my jewelry. But part of me always kinda missed it. Over the last few years there have been many positive changes in my life and I am finally where I know that I belong. I have been trying new things with my jewelry and have also developed a passion for watercolor painting. As I start to make new connections in the art community and rekindle old ones I realized that it was time for me to open up a website again.
Right now as I am working on this site I should be doing house work and I would rather be finishing my sketch for this month's Enchanted Visions painting. Oh yeah there is also the cake that I am supposed to bake and the birthday present that I need to wrap for my Aunt. If I am lucky I will get about half of the stuff I need and want to get done this weekend before it is time to go back to work.
